Here are options that might help.
Payment plans
When the work is the right fit but the timing is financially hard, we're open to spreading it.
Reduced-fee options
I keep a few reduced-fee slots. Ask, and we'll tell you what's open.
Out-of-network reimbursement
I don't bill insurance directly, but I provide a superbill you can submit. Some plans provide some reimbursement for various types of therapy.
Worth one phone call
Call the number on your insurance card and ask about out-of-network coverage for outpatient mental health, sometimes listed as "behavioral health".
Cancellation Policy
When you schedule with us, we hold that time for you.
Because we can't fill a session on short notice, late cancellations mean the time that was reserved for you goes unused, and we're not able to offer it to another couple who's waiting. The policy below is our way of being fair to you, to them, and to the practice.
Rescheduling
If something comes up, please reach out. Whenever we can move your session to another time within one week of the original appointment, there's no charge.
Illness
If you're not feeling well, you may reschedule within one week or meet by telehealth instead.
Ongoing sessions
We ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel. If you cancel with less notice and we're not able to reschedule you within one week, you'll be charged $155 for each hour that was scheduled. If you cancel within 24 hours of your session or don't attend, you'll be charged the full fee for the session that was scheduled.
Accelerated Couples Therapy
Accelerated sessions hold a full block of time and are scheduled well in advance, which makes them especially hard to fill if a date opens up. A 50% deposit is due two weeks before your session to reserve it.
More than two weeks before
Cancel with no charge.
Between one and two weeks before
Your deposit stays on account and can be applied to a future Accelerated session that takes place within 90 days.
Less than one week before
The deposit is not returned.
Within 24 hours
The deposit is not returned and the remaining balance is charged.
